Sony Europe's senior director Mike Hocking has teased that LittleBigPlanet 2 looks “stunning” while running in 3D.

The game was conspicuously absent from the list of confirmed 3D titles during Sony’s presence at GamesCom last week.

However, speaking with the chaps at VideoGamer.com, Hocking revealed that while developer Media Molecule has yet to divulge its plans for the sequel in regards to 3D support, it is actively researching the feature.

"We've not announced anything on that yet," he said, when quizzed as to whether or not the platformer would support 3D. "We've done some R&D with the game and it looks stunning in 3D.”

"It looks toy-like. It looks like you can grab things in the game. The guys haven't announced what they are doing yet, but if they did it would be stunning in 3D."

LittleBigPlanet 2 is due out exclusively on PlayStation 3 on November 12.

    @2, I don't know, I'm guessing maybe a year would be enough.

    I'll pay the high price for a 3DTV so long as it is a second generation model. Second gen technology is always more reliable and stable.

    awww man now that I think of it LBP WOULD be AMAZING in 3d considering the pop it menus, the interactivity of the stages, having move control to boot (so it's like reaching out and touching something that popping out of the screen at you in order to effect it in game!) :( WHY! WHY CAN'T I HAVE THIS GAME RIGHT NOW! It's NOT FAIR!!

    If there is one game that I would get a 3D TV etc for, this game would be it without a doubt.

    Unfortunately, such hardware is years beyond my means.......so, its pretty meaningless to me.

    At any rate LBP2 is most definitely on my most wanted list of all time. Lets face it.....we can call ourselves "mature" gamers, but in reality there is no such thing. We are all just big kids making excuses for why we play games at our age.

    Im happy to be a LittleBigKid...how about you?

     Wow who would have thought, a games company promoting itself with things it might or might not do, how original. Good luck to anyone that thinks 3d is worthwhile, I personally think it's a complete waste of money. I'm yet to hear of a game that is soon to be released that doesn't look 'amazing', just ask the people that make money from selling the game.

    Dammit. I lost a bet. I just knew that one of the higher-ups at SCEE would say that LBP2 looked horrible in 3D, and that 3D itself was a waste of money, time, and development resources. Oh well.

    Ofcourse they would f'ing say that. It's their game. This information is not credible... If it was Microsoft: LittleBigPlanet 2 looks  "stunning" in 3D. Then I'd believe it lol

     Well I have a 58" Samsung 3D TV..got it for 2300 including 3d blu-ray player, two pair of glasses and monsters vs aliens. To me it was worth the the price because models not including 3d at that size were just a few hundred dollars less. I paid over 600 first day release for a ps3 so to me the price is worth the value I will pay for it. There are only a few movies and games out for it but Espn in 3d is cool and movies and games are being released every day. Superstar dust 3d is awesome looking and the motorstorm 3d are both well implemented. Can't wait for Sony to continue pushing this technology. If you don't think 3d is anything special than tell it to the rest of JOE PUBLIC that continue to purchase tickets for 3d flicks at the movies for premiums. 3D sells and it will help companies like Sony make a profit so they can continue to bring us software and hardware that we love.
