Sony hosted its annual PlayStation Awards last night, with Final Fantasy XIII scooping up the only Platinum gong for having a mighty one million units shipped in Japan to its name.
Meanwhile, the likes of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Yakuza 4 all received the Gold award for having shipped a total of 500,000 units.
Taking a peek at the User Choice Prize category though, it’s clear that Japanese gamers are starting to embrace a little more output from us westerners, with the likes of God of War III and Modern Warfare 2 standing shoulder to shoulder with Japan’s cream of the crop.

Well, it also got a User Choice Prize (whatever that is) that sounds like a critical award.
It was easily the best game of the year though. -

What does Square Enix have to do with Modern Warefare 2?
@6 wouldn't we have heard about that? that's kind of a big deal. I heard nothing of square enix publishing modern warefare in japan. in fact just typing that out seems wrong. There has to be some sort of mistake here.
