The nominees for Best PlayStation Move Game of 2010 are…
And the winner is…
Sony’s entry into the motion control market was anything but spectacular in 2010. That is not to say PlayStation Move is a poor product; in fact, it’s an extremely precise piece of gadgetry, but it launched with few titles that showcased its potential. Fortunately for the consumer, a Move bundle came equipped with a copy of Sports Champions, Sony’s answer to Wii Sports. Table tennis, beach volleyball, bocce ball, disc golf, gladiator duel, and archery are all available on the disc, complete with shiny graphics, a career mode, and support for up to four players. Sports Champions was, and remains, the best representation of the basic potential of PlayStation Move. It is also one of the few games designed exclusively for the PlayStation Move peripheral. While not a perfect outing, Sports Champions is fun, addictive, and easy to play for veteran gamers and newcomers alike.
And the Community Award goes to…
The PSU community, like our editorial team, selected Sony’s motion sports outing as Best PlayStation Move Game of 2010. 56.1% of voters opted for Sports Champions, while Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition scraped in 31.7% of the votes. R.U.S.E., SingStar Dance, and Tumble each received less than 7.5% of the votes.
