Ubisoft’s long-delayed disaster romp I Am Alive has apparently been dressed down from a physical release and is now suited and booted for a digital-only debut later this year.
That's according to a video on JeuxVideo (spotted by NeoGAF), where Ubisoft bigwig Jade Raymond confirmed that the title won't be getting a retail release, and will instead be up for grabs on PlayStation Network and Xbox Live.
I Am Alive – an ironic title considering the lack of news surrounding the project up until today – was first unveiled at E3 2008, with a release date originally pencilled in for spring 2009. However, this failed to materialise, with Ubisoft later stating it wouldn’t see the light of day until April 2011 at the earliest.
Conspicuously, the game’s official website is currently undergoing maintenance, with a re-launch scheduled for 3am GMT/10pm EST today. Hopefully this’ll shed some light on where the project’s currently at.
Stay tuned.

That sucks, was really looking forward to this game when it was announced, I really dont think a downloadable version will cut it.

Hmmm, I dont believe the site is offline meant that they will re-launch with news. I went into the Legacy Project of Facebook and they are also in keeping with the same scheduled time to return.
It may be only coincidence, but I still believe that this is the reason. -
