At the last official count over 3.6 million user-created levels were playable in LittleBigPlanet 2’s community section and hundreds are still being added on a daily basis. There’s a lot of rubbish to sift through — some people have far too much time on their hands — but over the last month or so we’ve been watching plenty of fan-made movies, playing co-shooters until our thumbs could take no more, and been swinging and bouncing our way through dozens of ingeniously designed levels in order to bring you our top five favourite creations. We’ve found it difficult to whittle it down to our favourite five cool creations, because there are so many talented and creative people out there. But, we’re sure most of you will agree that these five deserve some special recognition.

Back To The Future

This isn’t a playable level but RigZZ has done a sterling job at creating the clock tower scene from Back to the Future, complete with Marty McFly and Doc. Brown. Great Scott!

 

For Vanished Heights

The level design here is stupidly good and Lockstitch has made other levels that are just as impressive. His use of bounce pads and trigger switches as you make your way up the tower makes this a very fun level to play indeed. This level is quite long, so we’ve cut it around the five minute mark. Just go and play it!

 

Shadow Of the Colossus

This level is so brilliant because HORIIIIII has designed one of the best big bosses that we’ve seen during our community play-test. It’s also clear that he has a great passion for the PS2 action adventure because he manages to make his level just as cinematic and true to the nature of the original game. Sterling work!

 

Here Kitty, Kitty! (Film Starring Granny Sack)

Fan-made movies can be fun to watch too. Here we have another film from Granny Sack, a character that has now become popular on LBP2 thanks to the comedy flair of JAWVEEWII60. It’s a simple concept, but so cleverly put together.

 

Vietnam: FPS Advanced (With Co-Op Support)

PPp_Killer started created this level in the beta phase and now he's fine-tuned it into an awesome shooter complete with co-op play. If you’ve delved into the community section at all, you’ll probably have seen his FPS creation which has even received recognition from developer Media Molecule. There's good reason for that. It starts off with some simple target practice, but then turns into a full-out war against the Vietnamese.
