PlayStation Store returning on May 24?

According to a memo Sony recently distributed to its publishing partners, the hardware manufacturer plans to restore the PlayStation Store on May 24.
The document (via Gamasutra) claims that Sony is planning on rolling out two weekly content updates for the next fortnight, allowing it to offload its backlog as a result of the recent PSN outage.
“We thank you for your patience as we work to resume service of the PlayStation Store,” the memo states. “If there are concerns, we are willing to consider adjusting the release date of your content on this schedule. Adjustments will be made on a case by case basis.”
Apparently, the first update will go live on May 24, and includes content originally planned for April 26. The second update on May 27 will contain updates that had previously been planned for May 3. Further updates are also in the pipeline for May 31 and June 3.
After this is accomplished, Sony is expected to be up to date on all PS Store updates and the regular schedule will resume.
It’s worth noting the memo doesn’t give any mention as to how Sony plans on offering compensation for any losses developers may have incurred as a result of the downtime – assuming it's planning on doing so, that is.

I have to re-download my games because my Fat ps3 got the YLOD when the psn was down. Plus, I'm looking forward to downloading the psn freebies as well (Infamous and WipeOut HD).

@3... because there is a promotional period for releases that is critical to sales. The downtime will cause millions of dollars to be lost by those developers who were releasing either the week of downtime or had just released when the downtime occured. Sony is responsible for maintaining a secure network and failed. They owe these developers millions of dollars in what is called "make-good."

well... it really depends on the type of contracts sony has between devs. In the end the one taking the biggest hit is sony since, most devs make game mutil platform. And personnaly I dont feel Sony should compensate devs, stuff happens. Every business takes a risk being in business. The video games business is a market that only has so many possible fallout situations in comparison to other types of markets, like cars, cosmetics, movies. It's always been a rather safe market to venture into, the only challenge was to make a good game, if your name wasn't on the map and you make a killer game people buy it and so on... For the first time in history something has hapenned thats practically " Force Majeure" against all parties. Devs need Sony, Sony needs Devs. Instead of taking from each other they should just get over it and work together to prevent history from repeating it self... Mr. Smart, if PSN fails to deliver on contractual obligations to its sellers and their marketing strategy --which is funneled through PSN-- then Sony must make-good by delivering reasonable zero-cost promotion once the system is back online. It is part of every single contract for proprietary delivery systems such as PSN or iTunes etc. Without make-goods, developers and other sellers would constantly be suing proprietary carriers for breach of contract.
