Sony is apparently following in the footsteps of PlayStation 3 by making its upcoming handheld PlayStation Vita completely region free.

That’s according to Michael Denny, vice president of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe, who IGN reports said that “to the best of his knowledge” Sony’s new pocket brick would not be region locked.

If this is indeed the case, then Vita’s bagged one clear advantage over its nearest competitor, 3DS, which isn’t region free.
