Media Molecule taking a break from LBP, working on new ideas

Media Molecule is apparently taking a break from the LittleBigPlanet world to work on something new, according to Studio Director Siobhan Reddy. Speaking at Gamelab 2011 in Barcelona, Reddy said: “We’re stepping away from LittleBigPlanet to focus on some new ideas,” writes Edge.

The news shouldn’t come as a huge shocker as the studio is responsible for two highly-creative and successful games that gives players near complete control over future content. We are still looking for that Move update, but it’s reassuring that we could see a completely new IP from a studio that created such an addictive and adorable platformer.

So what is next for Media Molecule? If you wanted to pitch them the perfect game, what would you suggest? A shooter? An RPG? Or, how about a post-apocalyptic-zombie rampage with a mix of base control, real-time strategy, Move-recognized dancing, and a dash of puzzles for good measure? If anyone could pull it off, I think Media Molecule would have the best shot; after all, LittleBigPlanet 2 is like every genre thrown into one cute little game.

why are they moving forward when they never fixed/patched all the glitches and mistakes that came with LBP2? Part 1 was great and they went backwards with all the problems the sequel had, and now they move forward yet again without fixing what went wrong. :(
