Gabe Newell, the head honcho of Valve, has confirmed that keyboard and mouse support will be included in the PlayStation 3 version of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, announced last week at GamesCom in Germany.

PS3 gamers will have the option to choose between mouse and keyboard, PlayStation Move or the DualShock 3 as their controller of choice, while Xbox 360 players are limited to the gamepad.

Cross-platform play has also been confirmed, however at this time, it is limited for play between PS3, PC and MAC versions, as Newell is having difficulty in convincing Microsoft to allow Steamworks in the Xbox 360 version.

The game will include five maps for Defuse mode, and two maps for Hostage Rescue, and each map will has been carefully reconstructed to look and feel like the originals from CS: 1.6  and CS: Source.

Valve has also said that it will be hosting its own servers for all versions of the game, but has left the option for players to host their own. However, the Valve hosted servers will use matchmaking technology that is based on player skill, to keep a level playing field for all.

The beta for CS: GO will commence in October, however there is no word as of yet if this will be limited to PC/MAC players only.
