Square drops new Final Fantasy Versus XIII info

Final Fantasy Versus XIII will offer an experience that fans have never witnessed previously in the illustrious RPG franchise, Square Enix’s Tetsuya Nomura has teased.
Speaking to Famitsu (via Andriasang), Nomura-san said that the elusive PlayStation 3-exclusive is ticking along nicely despite failing to make an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show last week.
He also let slip that he recently conducted a walkthrough of the game’s full world map and checked out some dungeons and side paths in towns, coming away impressed with the expansive nature of it all.
Nomura went on to say that Versus XIII will utilize the new Luminous next-generation engine for the game’s lighting. The action-centric elements, however, will be governed by a Versus specific engine.
The reason for this, he explained, is due to the fact the RPG’s lighting is being overhauled, and the developers are using the Luminous Engine for that very purpose. Apparently, photo-realism is the name of the game here; hence the greater focus on lighting effects.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII was originally announced in 2006, and has only just entered full production.

i got high hopes for this game. hopefully Nomura will fully deliver his promises. so far the game looks really awesome.

Square-Enix will give the most awesome PS3 exclusive to gamers! (soon, I hope) Final Fantasy Versus XIII. A dramatic chance to the series and much more popular than the current FFXIII/XIII-2. Everybody is waiting for that game. Tetsuya Nomura is fighting with his bosses in order to maintain the system exclusivity, also saying that this game may change the series forever.

I hope they take their time on this game - it\'s not that i don\'t wanna play it, (My GOD do i wanna play this game!) but if they rush it it\'ll probably not be as good as it could of been. But it\'s gunna be A-W-E-S-O-M-E! Hopefully it\'s gunna stay a PS3 Exclusive; otherwise they\'ll take out half the game and we\'ll have to wait for a Final Fantasy Versus XIII-2 ...
