Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units

Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units globally, publishing giant Electronic Arts confirmed during its Q2 earnings call last night.
Exact sales figures have yet to be divulged, though EA added that sell-through to consumers is “strong.”
"Battlefield 3 was launched on Tuesday and has opened very strong," commented EA’s CEO and executive director, John Riccitiello. "We shipped 10 million units to retail and we are already receiving reorders. The data is still early but sell-through is strong."
Peter Moore, the recently-appointed COO of EA, added, "As you know, we launched this title earlier this week, and the results have been tremendous, thanks to the superb quality of the title produced by our DICE Studio in Stockholm, and the world-class marketing executed by our teams globally."

Shipped, not sold, I figure it'll hit 6mil this Winter, 8 mil at most.

@ Henry - Flop in what way? By not having a good single player game? I have yet to see a military shooter with a good single player. I kind of liked Bad Company 1 tho. But still.. all so generic. So what did you expect? Apparently multiplayer is really really good. I have yet to play myself.
And naturally CoD is going to sell more. It doesn't mean it's a better game tho.
And I'm positive that its single player is as crappy as always. Multiplayer is good if you like the style. I like Battlefields way of doing it more. -
