Monster Hunter is heading to PlayStation Vita later this year, Nekkei Trendy is reporting.
According to an ‘industry insider,’ the title will arrive on Sony’s new handheld console in the second half of 2012. No further details were offered.
Monster Hunter went down a storm on PlayStation Portable in the Land of the Rising Sun, with the latest entry, Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, shifting 4.7 million units in Japan as of June last year.
Capcom has yet to officially confirm a Monster Hunter title for PS Vita, though last year revealed that Monster Hunter 4 would be coming to Nintendo 3DS.
More as it breaks.

only question is : will we be able to play online using the 3G? if not it will mean the online games will have to be played at home or at best near a free Wifi point, making the use of a portable console limited

They need to get a MH game out the door for vita and fast, then it will start selling like hotcakes in japan, they love monster hunter games, as do i, the west less so, but a MH game on the vita will drive sales like mad.
