Over $3.5 million raised by Child's Play in 2011

In a recent blog post, Child’s Play Project Manager, Jamie Dillion, took the time to thank gamers around the world for breaking the $10 million mark in lifetime contributions. The total amount raised in 2011 for the Child’s Play charity foundation clocks in at an exact $3,512,345.

“Thank you,” wrote Dillion. “Thank you to the community fundraisers who invest their time and energy. To the marathoners who forgo sleep and often pride for a laugh and a donation. To supporters of us through the Humble Bundle, who chose to contribute both Child’s Play and the industry as a whole. Thank you to those who have shared our cause with friends and family, whether it be through social media, word of mouth, blog, podcast, or stream.”

If you didn’t have a chance to donate in 2011, there will be plenty of ways to do so in 2012, just keep your ears open. Remember, this is for a good cause. This year Child’s Play aided over 80 hospitals worldwide with toys and games for sick children. Just think about that for a second.
