Sony has confirmed to Game Informer that Killzone is indeed coming to PS3 via PlayStation Network, and will retail for $9.99. However, it appears the game will be a straight port of the PS2 version, not a HD update.
Killzone will be released on January 24.
Guerrilla Games is seemingly bringing the original Killzone to PlayStation 3, if a listing on the official ESRB website is anything to go by.
As spotted by Gamepur, a search result clearly lists the 2004 sci-fi shooter for both PS2 and PS3, though Sony hasn’t made any such announcement regarding a possible re-release.
The most recent entry in the franchise, Killzone 3, hit PS3 back in February 2011, while SCE Studio Cambridge is currently beavering away on a new game for PlayStation Vita.

I would love to see it! It would hopefully take care of the really bad bugs that plagued the original. Man, I hope they do it. =)

Friggin useless if it's not revamped to HD.Why it won't be makes no damn sense at all.

Ugh. As much as I like the idea of PS2 classics for download... Killzone deserves to be an HD remake...

I wonder how many people will buy this from the store expecting an HD remake...
Seriously, it's pitiful that this isn't an HD remake. I've never played it, but COME ON. HD remakes are all the rage right now, they'd make a lot more money remaking it, and perhaps bundling it with the other Killzone games or something.

I've played Killzone 2 & 3 on PS3 but not the 1st one on PS2. I'd love to play a HD remake of the game with 720p, widescreen and 60fps but not a PS2 port. I was fooled once, bought a PS2 Classic believing it is HD remake and won't repeat the same mistake. PS2 ports are meaningless and although there are lots of beloved games, they look really bad in the huge HD TV's everyone has nowdays. A HD remake is already a lazy job, but a port? Come on...
