BBC Worldwide has confirmed that sci-fi outing Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be released exclusively for PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Europe.

The game was previously announced for release on PC in addition to Sony platforms, though it remains unknown if it’ll still be released for PC in other territories.

Starring Matt Smith and Alex Kingston, who voice the Doctor and River Song respectively, The Eternity Clock sees the Time Lord travelling “into the belly of the beast” in order to subvert the plans of the dastardly new-look Cybermen, Daleks and Silurians.

BBC Worldwide has previously released numerous Doctor Who tie-ins on PC in the shape of The Adventure Games series.

Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock will be released in March 2012.

Exclusively to the PS3 and Vita, eh?

I'm hoping that the release will be worldwide and unhindered by region -- because the way the BBC handled The Adventure Games series was absolute bollox.

Still hoping for a PC release though.
