Stealthy spin-off Metal Gear Online will officially cease operations on June 12, 2012, Konami has announced.
The game launched alongside Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots four years ago, and will close ahead of the series’ 25th anniversary in July 2012.
Konami plans to cease all new registrations for Metal Gear Online on April 24, with supporting expansion packs and shop content after that date being made available free of charge.

Well that sucks. Every once in a while I like to go back and play some MGO. It was easily my favorite game to play online. So much fun, and so many PSN friends gained from that game.

I bought MGS4 on release, stuck with the annoyances to register & play online......played online for less than a week.
Unfortunately, no matter how great MGS4 was, the control system was abused by @rseholes who took everything great about the game & wiped their @rses with it. Constant RPG's, running in circles while steadying their own aim, then adding lag into the bargain. It was simply a horrible experience for anyone who loves tactical gaming.
All good things are ruined by online gamers!
