BioWare explains lack of PS3 Mass Effect 3 multiplayer events

Developer BioWare has moved to shed light on the lack of multiplayer challenge events for the PlayStation 3 version of Mass Effect 3, laying the blame firmly at Sony’s doorstep.

PC and Xbox 360 gamers are able to participate in Operation Resurgence this week, which coincides with the release of Mass Effect 3’s first chunk of multiplayer DLC, the Resurgence Pack. Those who take part in the event will be given a free Reserves Pack featuring one new Resurgence character the next week.

However, PS3 owners have been left out in the cold, apparently because Sony has yet to give the event the green light.

"Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer our Multiplayer Challenge weekends on PlayStation 3. Sony has not yet approved the promotion," said BioWare. " We continue to work with them to find a compromise, but until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC."

Sounds like BS to me, how many times had we seen 2X experience weekends on CoD the cross over? They probably didnt get enough of a warning to prep for it. where as there's almost no oversight on PC and MS would be happy to do anything that makes LIVE look good. If anything I'd bet it would have green lit a week later.

I have to agree with Alpha2. I feel that bioware just wants to point fingers for their own lack of organization. Sony is what we call professional. If i were in charge of sony I probably never would have given mass effect a second look. This cross over was a waste of time.

HiMyNameIs stop kissing sony's @$S. Not everyone shares your opinion.

Mass Effect is awesome, I for one don't really give a $#-!T about XP bonus weekends.

Bioware = Microsoft tools, it's just an incentive for people to buy the XBOX360 version

4 its not about kissing a s s its about experience, and sony has made their name known for a reason, they can deliver. Mass effect has a lot of potential but at the moment it was mediocre at best. Not very engaging and technically distracting, although there were great visuals, most of it was just for show. I dont care about xp as much as the engagement, the game just felt chaotic to me in terms of how everything was connected and organized.
