Crysis 3 has been officially confirmed by publisher Electronic Arts after the game was outed on Origin last week.
Due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360, the sci-fi shooter will be released in spring 2013, and sees players returning to New York in 2047 in the shoes of Prophet.
Crysis 3 takes advantage of the latest CryEngine tech, and will take the form of a sandbox game that sees The Big Apple encased in Cell Corporation-produced Nanodome, known as the New York City Liberty Dome. Here, the environment has been transformed into an urban rainforest rife with overgrown trees, swamplands and rivers.
Prophet will be able utilize a “lethal composite bow” in addition to an enhanced Nanosuit and alien technology. The sequel sees our hero on a quest for revenge after unearthing the truth behind Cell Corporation’s motives for constructing the Nanodomes.
The official press blurb reads: “With Alien Ceph lurking around every corner and human enemies on the attack, nobody is safe in the path of vengeance. Everyone is a target in Prophet’s quest for retribution.”
Finally, Crytek has confirmed three pre-order packs that will be available at select retailers. See below for the full skinny.

I just got finished with Crysis 2, and it was pretty good, wasn't bad at all, except the story was weak though. Only real prob I had, was my save file some how became corrupted, and I lost my game in level 11.

@2- Since I didn't get to finish it, im not sure. Maybe its not who Prophet is, its what he is, or what he represents in the game. I am going to have to play through again, so I can see the full lowdown. This is one of the reasons I hate auto-saves in games, you get a corrupted file on it, its game over. =(
