Skype will be made available for Sony’s PlayStation Vita in the U.S. today and tomorrow in Europe, the company has revealed.

The app will be free to download as part of this week’s PlayStation Store update, and can be found in the ‘Media & AppsSocial’ category. Video calling will be supported for both the 3G and Wi-Fi models of Sony’s new handheld.

Pleasingly, users will be able to pause a game and answer a Skype call before resuming their activities, thanks to the fact the app runs in background mode while you’re otherwise engaged.

Skype should've been added to the PS3 years ago......

Instead it goes to the PSP and the PS Vita...
