Retail giant Amazon UK has revealed that first-day pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops II have totalled three times the amount reached by its predecessor two years ago.
Graham Chambers, video games manager at Amazon UK, commented: “Set to be one of the biggest games of the year, it’s great to see so much enthusiasm and anticipation for Call of Duty: Black Ops II.”
“Bolder and better than before and with everything from a futuristic storyline through to single player mode, Zombies and multiplayer, Black Ops II promises something Call of Duty fans have never seen before.”
Black Ops II takes place in the year 2025 in the midst of a new Cold War, with players hopping into the military boots of David Mason, son of the protagonist of the original Black Ops. The game will offer branching storylines and new Strike Force missions, allowing players to shape the outcome of the campaign based on their actions throughout.
The shooter is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 on November 13, 2012.
