BioShock: Infinite delayed

Hotly-anticipated shooter BioShock: Infinite has been delayed until early 2013, publisher 2K Games has announced.

Originally scheduled for an October 2012 release, the Irrational Games title will now be released globally on February 26, 2013.

Infinite’s creator, Ken Levine, took to the developer’s official website today to explain the reasoning behind the slip:

“When we announced the release date of BioShock Infinite in March, we felt pretty good about the timing. Since then, we’ve come to realize that some specific tweaks and improvements will make Infinite into something even more extraordinary."

“Therefore, to give our talented team the time they need, we’ve decided to move the game’s release to February 26, 2013. We wanted to let our loyal (and very patient!) fans know this as soon as possible," he added.

In addition to the delay, Levine also confirmed that Irrational does not intend on showcasing Infinite at E3 or Gamescom later this year. However, he did indicate that the next time it does rear its head, it’ll be in a near-complete state.

“We are also going to hold off on showing BioShock Infinite at the big events of the summer, like E3 and Gamescom. That way, the next time you see our game, it will be essentially the product we intend to put in the box. Preparing for these events takes time away from development, time we’re going to use instead to get the best version of Infinite into your hands in February,” explained Levine.

BioShock: Infinite is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360.

Ha, that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. You should go take your pills or something.

Obviously this just means that they are going to need more time to polish and perfect the game before release. Honestly Kev Levine can take as long as he wants, as long as the game is amazing when it releases.

Ken Levine has earned more than enough credibility with core gamers to be able to do something like this and still keep a favorable reputation. While this announcement does comes across initially as bad news I'm still not phased by it. Deep in our filthy human meat brains we know its simply so that he can deliver what he feels should be the "TRUE" Bioshock: Infinite experience.
My copy has been on preorder for sometime now. The extra wait is harsh but has no impact on how badly i want to play it.

Can't wait to play this game. I suppose waiting a little longer isn't going to kill me, but man Ken Levine sure knows how to make great games. Take your time!

he company looked at Wedbush Securities today's announcement of the delay of the Infinite Bioshock Irrational Games as something positive, at least for those who desperately awaits V Grand Theft Auto, Rockstar Games. For the company, opened a window to release GTA V in October this year.
For the company, another factor that confirms this thought is that all other games of Grand Theft Auto series were launched this month. Even Grand Theft Auto IV, which was launched in April 2008, was officially scheduled for October 2007. The delay was due to issues with the version of the PlayStation 3.
For those unaware, the distributor of both games is the Take-Two and according to Wedbush Securities, and confirmed that Rockstar Games for Take-Two that his game could be released later this year, the distributor immediately gave Irrational Games run at a higher production of Bioshock Infinite.

In its analysis, the company said sure both games will sell millions of units, but is released at the same time, could be competing for who does not have as large an amount. "The portfolio of the players will thank this decision" completed the analysis.

On sales, the company still considered that in its release, Grand Theft Auto V should move about 18 million units across all platforms.

If all this is true, only time will tell, but it is undeniable that everyone would be happy with the arrival of Grand Theft Auto V later this year. You player, accept this change?
