The next instalment in Namco Bandai’s long-running Tales series will take the form of a ‘Mothership’ title, according to  Famitsu.com.

For those unfamiliar with the franchise, this essentially means the new game won’t be a remake ala Tales of Innocence R or a side project, but rather a full-fledged offering like Xillia, Vesperia and Graces.

No details on the game have been released yet, but Namco plans on making an announcement at the Tales of Festival event on June 2, which Tales Members can watch live.

The most recent game in the series, Tales of Xillia, was released in Japan in September 2011. Namco filed a trademark for the RPG in the U.S. and Europe earlier this year, indicating a western launch is in the pipeline.
