Take-Two has revealed that XCOM has suffered yet another delay, with the 2K Marin-developed shooter now scheduled to ship anywhere between April 1, 2013 – March 31, 2014.

The news dropped during the publishing giant’s quarterly earnings call, though no reason for the delay was given. XCOM was originally pencilled in for launch in the current fiscal year.

Elsewhere, hotly-anticipated open-world crime sequel Grand Theft Auto V is listed as “TBA,” so we’re still no closer to finding out when we can get our mitts on the game.

The publisher also outlined an extensive DLC line-up for Max Payne 3:

-Local Justice Map Pack (DLC) - June
-Disorganized Crime Map Pack (DLC) - Summer
-Deathmatch Made In Heaven Mode Pack (DLC) - Summer
-Hostage Negotiation Map Pack (DLC) - Summer
-New York Minute Co-Op Pack (DLC) - Summer
-Painful Memories Map Pack (DLC) - Autumn
-Trickle Down Economics Map Pack (DLC) - Autumn

Take-Two announced net revenue was down from $182.3 million this time last year to $148.1 million, while revenue for the entirety of the fiscal year clocked in at $825.8 million – down from $1,136.9 million the previous year.

Said Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two: “Fiscal 2012 was a year of creative, operational and strategic achievement by our company.”

“We delivered groundbreaking titles, including L.A. Noire and NBA 2K12, which set new standards for excellence; grew our revenue from digitally delivered content and mobile offerings; made substantial progress on our online gaming initiatives; and bolstered our already strong liquidity through a convertible notes offering.”

"While our financial results were disappointing, the decisions we made position Take-Two for growth and profitability both this year and over the long-term,” he added.

I'm starting to expect this to happen withevery game Take-Two publishes, but if it means a better game, then I'm not really concerned about the delays.

I think most people, including myself, are more interested in XCOM: Enemy Unknown, being developed by Firaxis Games.
