A new Dead Space graphic novel short released by Electronic Arts this week contains some tantalizing hints on the possible future direction of the sci-fi horror franchise.
As previously reported, the in-development Dead Space 3 has been rumored to take place on an ice planet, which sees protagonist Isaac Clarke battling through blizzards and other environmental hazards.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, the graphic short below certainly ties in with this possible new setting for the next game, which sees Earthgov’s John Carver patrolling planet Uxor’s Market Site before it comes under attack from unknown assailants.
Here’s the scoop:
"While patrolling the planet Uxor, Earthgov Sergeant John Carver witnesses an attack on the Marker Site he guards which changes his life forever. John must now fight his way through a colony now in complete chaos as he begins to discover how important he is in fighting the Necromorph plague. This is just the start of John Carver’s saga in the Dead Space Universe."
Last week, PSU.com caught wind from a trusted source that EA is planning on blowing the lid off Dead Space 3 at E3 next week with a dedicated demo showcasing the game’s environments and new gameplay mechanics.
