Developer Sledgehammer Games is busy hammering away on a new Call of Duty title, according to a job listing on the company’s official website.
While an official announcement has yet to be made, the ad pretty much speaks for itself. The firm is hiring for a Senior FX Artist to help “create the exceptional real-time effects with hyper realism for [its] next Call of Duty game.”
If that wasn’t proof enough, the ad also requests that the successful applicant holds “solid professional experience and knowledge of the limitations and performance of current generation hardware (PS3, 360),” indicating the new game is being tailored for the current crop of home consoles.
Sledgehammer, of course, is no stranger to the Call of Duty universe, having collaborated with long-time series developer Infinity Ward on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 last year.
The company had also been working on a third-person spin-off a few years back before deciding to scrap the project in favour of working on Modern Warfare 3. Could they be picking up where they left off or is the new Call of Duty a separate title entirely?
