Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) big cheese Jack Tretton has humorously touched on Usher’s appearance at Microsoft’s E3 press conference, saying the singer’s performance helped Sony.
The Big M booked the ‘Scream’ star to perform at the platform holder’s E3 shindig and promote upcoming title Dance Central 3. Unsurprisingly, this didn’t go down well with some of the hardcore gamers out there.
Still, Tretton saw a more positive side to the proceedings.
“I thought it was pretty interesting that Usher was a guest at Microsoft’s press conference,” he said, during an interview with Forbes. “Well that helped Sony ultimately, you know? Not directly, but let’s face it – that’s a Sony artist.”
Tretton, of course, fronted Sony’s own E3 presser, which seemed to fare better with the core audience than its competitors. Among the highlights at the conference included Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us and the first appearance of David Cage’s brand new title, Beyond: Two Souls.
Nonetheless, the event wasn’t without its criticism. Sony came under fire from fans for spending too long waffling on about PlayStation Eye/Move offering Wonderbook, and for the lack of new PlayStation Vita announcements.

If I was a XBOX360 owner I'd be totally sickened by the mediocrity of M$'s last 2 E3 conferences, another HALO, another Forza, another Gears ... some limited time exclusive DLC ... damn why go on with them?
