Insomniac Games’ Overstrike was conspicuously absent from E3 last week, but publisher Electronic Arts has said we’ll get our first look at the game later in the summer.
Speaking with CVG, EA Games Label boss Frank Gibeau said that Insomniac is in the process of tinkering with the gameplay and quality before the game gets a re-reveal.
“We’re very excited about Overstrike,” said Gibeau. “It’s a new IP and we want to make it the right game, so they’re taking some extra time to nail the gameplay and the quality.”
He added: “It felt like we would stand out better later in the summer once we’ve hit some key milestones and we’re able to show off more.”
Announced at E3 2011, Overstrike is Insomniac’s first multiplatform title and takes the form of a co-op shooter set in the near future, centring on a group of agents dubbed the Overstrike 9.
Only a CGI trailer has been shown so far, though going by what Gibeau has said we can hopefully expect something a little more substantial in the next couple of months.

Definitely interested in checking this out... and I definitely agree with their choice to wait to show it off because there are so many other huge titles at E3 that it probably would have been overshadowed.
