UK gets white PS3, release date and pricing confirmed as GAME becomes exclusive partner

The UK will get a new shiny white PlayStation 3 console on June 29th, which will come packed with a 320Gb hard drive, two white DualShock controllers and a subscription to PlayStation Plus for the duration of 90 days.
Gamestop was originally announced as Sony’s partner and was going to sell the console exclusively via its website, but it seems that plans have now changed and GAME is the only place where you can pre-order the new machine.
The white PlayStation 3 will cost £239.99 and is available to pre-order here.

Sony should have alternate colors like this available from the very first release of their consoles. Same with the Vita. The only reason I haven't bought a Vita yet is because I knew they would release other models/colors and I'm happy that the first to be released happens to be white since I wanted a white one. After all, if I'm spending $200+ on the device then I might as well get one that I can be fully satisfied with for a long time. I personally think it would be a good business strategy to have at least a couple different simple colors (black, white, silver) available upon release.
