The PS Vita is getting the YouTube application free later today, allowing users to watch random videos on their handheld device. You will get two modes, full screen and small screen. The application allows you to watch high definition videos up to 720p. Look to download the YouTube application later today via the PlayStation Store.

The application gives you recommended videos, a search function, a viewing history, and the ability to add favorites, according to the PS Blog. Essentially this is YouTube wrapped up for you PS Vita experience.

Sony has more in store for Vita, including more content and applications before the end of 2012. If you own a PS Vita you no doubt have been waiting for this application since launch.

Looking forward to YouTube on your Vita? What’s the first video you are going to watch? Why not relieve some of PSU’s video reviews.
