Our U.K. friends now have access to the BBC Sports App beta trial on the PlayStation 3. The app provides video coverage across three events—Euro 2012, Formula 1, and Wimbledon. The events have a “News & Catchup” section that features short videos with the latest highlights, news and interviews; and a “Live Coverage” that allows you to stream coverage. You’ll have access to the XMB while using the app.

The BBC Sports App is currently in beta, so you are asked to report issues while you try it out. Word is we’ll see something on London 2012 Olympics and the BBC Sports App.

To give it a try, follow these steps:
- Sign into the PlayStation Network
- Navigate to the TV/Video Services on the XMB
- Select “My Channels”
- Locate the BBC Sports Beta icon and download the app. It’s about 32 MB.
- The BBC Sports APP will be available in the TV/Video Services channel
