Major PS Vita titles will be announced soon, says Sony

PlayStation Vita got its start with an undeniably strong launch lineup of games, but pickings have grown quite slim in the months since. Fans and consumers have voiced their concern, and Sony is responding.

Pulled from an interview by Famitsu, Andriasang reports that Sony Computer Entertainment Japan CEO Hiroshi Kawano has confirmed that another Vita Game Heaven event will take place soon. The last Game Heaven brought about the reveal of Soul Sacrifice and Phantasy Star Online 2, but that was way back in March. Now, we're left wondering: what does Sony have up its sleeve for the next one?

Apparently, good stuff. Kawano is reported to have said that major titles will be announced, but he didn't want to reveal any more than that. Furthermore, Kawano says that September's Tokyo Game Show will be a place of great focus for PS Vita, which I couldn't be more excited for after the portable's rather lukewarm E3 showing.

Sound off in the comments and let us know what games you hope are announced at the next Game Heaven event. Stay tuned to PSU.com to find out when exactly it will take place.

I hope so. I do see a bight future for the Vita, anyone who's hated on one must really hate playing 360/PS3 games. I also noticed that PS3 has a folder for PSVita apps, I haven't tried downloading any small apps off the PS3 (skype/youtube) for the Vita, I'd guess they would do the same as the game (show up below the Blu-ray game boot up icon).

So I'd be guessing LBP2 Vita DLC will end up in that folder, which is LBP2 game data for the Vita so it'll process its own data and only send game inputs = seamless interaction with the PS3 while not effecting LBP2's performance on PS3 if using a Vita.

Sony (could) choose to take the Wii U's thunder by releasing the PS3 Superslim with basic components (no slot loading drive, smaller etc..) a PS3 controller and a PSVita for a reasonable price. Games should be made for it as the Wii U would have similar games so porting wouldn't be asking to much.. Sony would have a 15 year console on their hands.

This also selling PSvitas, allowing PS3/Vita buyers to buy games for both systems, and cross play like the Wii U for years to come.. In the long run it could be the best way for Sony to make massive amounts of money from software sales and hardware.

With 60-70million some PS3's in peoples homes already, why buy a Wii U for a lot more then a Vita for a worse experience, and PS3 already has a ton of games for new comers.

Well thats what could happen, and I would like that. I already have both systems! :) So I only need the games, give me the games!! I'm ready, I'm ready.

I don't know how a new IP would go on the Vita, but I'd really like to see something really envelope all of the functionality that the Vita has. Uncharted did it well enough, where each piece of the hardware was used for something worth the while. The Vita needs more of that.

In terms of titles, I think that the Killzone game that was once mentioned could bring the Vita some love, especially if it has a multiplayer component that mimics what KZ3 has.

I really hope there's a bunch of new games on the way that we still haven't heard of, I love the Vita. I'm pretty confident that it has a bright future ahead of us. Persona 4 Golden , Ragnarok Odyssey, AC3, and Phantasy Star Online 2 are on my must buy list.

Sony need to get GTA iv or even a cutdown version of GTA V. That would make it the best selling handheld around in its self. But more games like Dirt for the vita and more FPS would also give it a great boost. But they also need to concentrate on more apps for the Vita. Get this thing doing the things ps3 can like streaming apps to stream from your media server video and music. They also need a much better app for youtube and better still a full html5 internet browser. Come on Sony why you so lazy at bringing us the things we need? Not to mention the games and apps we actually want.

What we need is full remote play compatability with the vita and a better web browser.
