MoH: Warfighter sales to suffer due to 'poor quality' of previous game

Cowen analyst Doug Creutz has observed that interest in Electronic Arts’ Medal of Honor: Warfighter has waned on the back of the ‘poor quality’ of 2010’s self-titled series reboot.

Speaking to investors this week, Creutz revealed that his Q1 sales forecast for the military shooter has been slashed from 2.3 million to 1.4 million copies as a result of this apparent disinterest.

"This is based on a very soft performance since E3 in Amazon's top-selling game rankings compared to other recent titles," the analyst said in a research note. "We think the most likely culprit for apparent gamer disinterest is the poor quality of the last 'Medal of Honor' game in 2010."

Developed by Danger Close, MoH: Warfighter is due out on PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 on October 23, 2012. A PlayStation Vita and Wii U Version is also in the pipeline.

Not sure how they got a "poor quality" version. My copy was great, and I didn't have any quality issues. Awesome game.

Okay psu you guys are funny. poor quality compared to what? In my opinion COD is poor quality, still fun though but poor quality compared to MOH. MOH is more fun in the sense that it looks great while delivering a realistic sense of battle with great sound quality, fluid killstreaks and when the bullet hits your target you know it.

@4 That isn't their opinion. As you can see, it was clearly a quote.

Even then it must be an opinion. Not many people agree with the opinion.

I don't think MOH was terrible but it certainly didn't live up to my expectations. I think a lot of people bought it to get the Battlefield 3 beta tbh. Seeing how good Battlefield looks I am more interested at this game then the first one with the new engine.

As for why interest is less....please look at the games launching this fall/holiday season it will be up against....CODBO2, AC3, RE6, Halo, DMC, FarCry3, Dishonored, Hitman, Borderlands2, and so many other quality titles....that game doesn't have the cache of Battlefield 3 or COD to hold its own. The last game didn't come out up against nearly that kind of release. THAT would my reason it will sell less.
