In preparation for the impending release of Sony and SuperBot Entertainment's crossover brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale (of which we are very, very excited), we thought we'd take a look back at the playable fighters we know are coming to the game and bring you up to speed with detailed character profiles that dig a little deeper into what makes each hero (and villain) tick.
Today, we're profiling Nathan Drake, the suave, charming, and altogether bada** protagonist of Naughty Dog's Uncharted series. Will Drake be as wily of a fighter as a treasure hunter?
-- CAUTION: Shining Moment section contains a spoiler for Uncharted 3 --
NATHAN DRAKE

Seen in: Uncharted series
Bio: Nathan Drake is the wise-cracking main protagonist of the blockbuster Uncharted series and made his debut in 2007's Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. He has appeared in two sequels and a prequel since, but PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is the first game outside of Uncharted to star this treasure hunter.
In the Uncharted series, Nathan Drake says that he is a descendant of legendary explorer Sir Francis Drake and goes globe-trotting for legendary treasures to secure wealth and prove this lineage. Sir Francis Drake had no known children and it's highly unlikely that Drake is a descendant, but Drake ignores this and strives to prove himself in everything he does. Longtime friend and father figure Victor "Sully" Sullivan is usually in tow, along with beautiful and capable love interest Elena Fisher. Drake's adventures tend to lead to sticky situations (from which he always finds a miraculous exit), and his physical abilities in climbing and fighting are top-notch. His melee strikes aren't pretty, but they get the job done.
Of course, Drake is also a learned historian and expert puzzle-solver - the guy's a jack-of-all-trades, really!
Shining Moment: While the Uncharted series is full of cinematic moments that leave us breathless, one standout with meaning comes in Uncharted 3, when Drake decides to leave Sir Francis’ "ancestral" ring with villainess Marlowe to give he and Sully enough time to escape the collapse of Ubar. Considering the reckless nature with which Drake had endangered his friends' lives throughout the game, this decision was one of major character development for him.
Supers:
Level 1: Drake throws a propane tank at his opponents and shoots it in mid-air.
Level 2: Drake pushes a pillar onto his opponents, crushing them.
Level 3: The curse of El Dorado returns! All opponents turn into the zombified monsters from Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and Drake gets Eddy Raja’s golden Desert-5 to shoot the cursed opponents.
