While PlayStation Vita's Firmware 1.80 went live mere hours ago, some users are reporting trouble installing their favorite PSOne gems on their shiny new handheld. Sony has posted the official list of PlayStation games compatible with Vita, and the list is (very) different between North America and Europe.

All told, there are only nine officially-supported games available for North America, while Europe is sitting pretty with 129. However, at least one Twitter user is reporting that a great deal more games work when downloaded on the PS3 first and then transferred to Vita via USB cable.

Am I the only one NOT impressed by this. Umm the psp could do this 6 years ago. Really I am supposed to be excited about this?

Not to disclose too much info, but my Android phone has had this tech for over a year.

Come on Sony, how about some innovation, give me a reason to buy a Vita.

The NA vita recognizes more ps one classics besides the nine. Those will be the only ones available for download in the store but if you download the games on your ps3 and than use content manager on the vita you can copy the ps one games to the vita. I have ff 9 and legend of dragoon on my vita now.
