Since its inception in 1997, Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto has made a name for itself among hardcore and casual gamers alike for its compelling (and often controversial) cocktail of meticulously-realised game worlds, bloody gun battles and car-jacking. Apart from that though, the multi-million selling crime juggernaut also boasts a brilliant soundtrack. Over the years, the series has included thumping beats from some of the biggest artists of the 80s, 90s and 00s, as well as injecting a spot of humorous ditties to boot. If you’re anything like us, then no doubt you’ve cruised GTA’s highways bobbing your head to the roaring guitar of Yes’s ‘Owner of a Lonely Heart’ or perhaps mowed down a few unsuspecting civvies to Slumpussy’s ‘This Life’ – admit it, we know you have.
With GTA fever having shifted up a gear as anticipation builds for the upcoming GTA V, PSU.com decided to extol the series’ finest selection of music stations, dating all the way back to the days of the top-down original.
Check out our picks below.
(Please note that while we’ve tried to include the full radio stations in each clip, this wasn’t always possible, so we’ve had to use individual songs and/or a 'best of' version of the station to represent them).
