Final Fantasy XIV PS3 details will surface near Tokyo Game Show

A few weeks back, Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, a movement to restore the integrity of its much-maligned MMORPG. With this content update, Square hopes to offer players "visually-stunning graphics and game design that appeal to both Windows PC and PlayStation 3". Further details on the PlayStation 3 release have yet to surface, but a Famitsu interview translated by Andriasang indicates that we’ll hear a good deal soon.

According to Andriasang, information on the PS3 version will surface "around the time of Tokyo Game Show", which runs from September 20 to September 23. Furthermore, Famitsu claims that the developers are working hard to fit all of the game’s main commands onto eight primary buttons, and will eliminate all of the hotkey images displayed along the bottom of the screen.

We’ll give you more on Final Fantasy XIV’s eventual PS3 release when we hear it. In the meantime, let us know in the comments if you’re willing to give this installment a try when it comes to Sony’s console.
