Final Fantasy X HD in development trouble?

Saying I'm looking forward to Final Fantasy X HD is not quite right. I'm ecstatic about the release; FFX is my favorite from the series! The last time we heard about the HD re-release was Tokyo Game Show of last year... exactly a year ago today.

PSU reached out to David Yang, Senior Public Relations Manager of Square Enix, just to get an update on on Final Fantasy X HD, and his response was

"Thanks for your inquiry. We have no information on FINAL FANTASY X HD to share at this time."

When asked simply if the game was still in development, we heard the same line.

"Again, we have no information we can share at this time. Sorry."

I hope Final Fantasy X HD is alive and breathing, because I, for one, can't wait to play it

Well its the only game I'm looking forward to from Square Enix, so if this gets canned then no money of mine is going to them.

And yeah I'm looking forward to vs too but its pretty much vapourware now IMO.

Unfortunately, @1 is right. This, and FFversusXIII, are effectively vaporware. Which is a real shame, because BOTH games are my last bastion of hope for Square Enix.

Come on, SE. I want to play FFX on Vita with cloud sync and Trophies!

This is my second favorite and I would pick it up again if it ever comes out.

This is shoddy "reporting," Joseph. A standard "no comment" line doesn't constitute a sensationalistic headline like the one above, which is based on pure speculation.

unfortunately starting rumors like this are the best way to get a developer to start talking.

But really? When someone will not even confirm that the game is still being worked on, that should raise some concern.

@7 Couldn't agree more. This definitely ranks very lowly on my list of articles from PSU. Give me some substance, Joseph, instead of pure speculation and sensationalism.

An "HD" remake we might not get? Manly tears are not shed. I'm so sick of these "HD" cash-dispensing remakes.

My god, another sensationalist title that takes things WAY out of proportion. So now a simple "we have no updates" comment automatically translates into "development trouble".

Way to go, Joseph. You are officially stupid.

Ok so, Final Fantasy X is his favorite FF in the series. Guess Joseph Faits lost any credibility he had with me. At least FF10 is not the worst one in the series.........anymore.

I don't know what's got everyone so set off about this article. If Square Enix had nothing to hide, and FFX HD development was going swimmingly, why wouldn't they just say "Yes." when Joseph asked "Is it still being developed?" When I ask somebody if an event or planned thing is still going on, and they say "No comment", that IMMEDIATELY sets off questions in my mind.

Yeah agree with others, the quotes don't exactly point to what the article is trying to say. That's a standard "no information to be said" line. Polyphony and the GT series pull that all the time.

But still, hurry the deuce up, I want to play this and a KH3 game! Goddammmit

@16 It's not a big deal because remakes are never a big deal to a publisher, It was low priority when they announced it and low priority when a website asks them for a comment. Heck even less likely they'd comment if they have plans to announce their progress at an up comming show or have an exclusive reveal planned with another website/magazine.
