PS3 update 4.25 sparks complaints - have you had problems ever since?

The recent PS3 update v4.25 has apparently caused a host of issues among some users, including problems with internet connectivity. The forums over at the official PlayStation website currently has a number of complaints from PS3 owners that span a variety of issues.
The main feature of the PS3 4.25 update was the increase of PlayStation Cloud storage from 150 megabytes to a full gigabyte, but it looks like some users may have got much more than they bargained for.
One poster by the name of Cannon Fodder claims that his controllers haven’t worked since the update and he’s only been able to turn off the console by unplugging it completely.
JJCHAOS28 writes: “I have a 320gb slim model and ever since the update my PS3 won't even read my games. It plays my CD's, DVD's, let's me on the internet & let's me sign in but IT DOESN'T EVEN READ MY GAMES! What's going on? Did the update break my PS3?
inwaytoodeep0690 claims: “i have 2 slim models in my home one for me and one for my son . i updated from whatever version to 4.25 on both now i cant connect or stay connected to playstation network or play games online.”
Not all users have been affected as some forum posters say they’ve had no problems at all since the update, but there’s clearly an issue with some consoles as the complaints span over nine pages.
We’ve asked Sony to respond so we’ll keep you updated and hopefully they'll be fix for some of the problems shortly. Let us know if you’ve had any issues.

My PS3 freezes and restarts everytime I exit a game.

Having problems with Madden 13 going to disk recovery mode when exiting the game since new update. Not all the time but about 50% of the time. Found if I turn sign off psn before exiting game, it will exit normally. You just have to sign back in once process is done.

my cousin cant even upgrade to the version 4.25 he keeps getting an error

I haven't had any problems since the upgrade, but for JJCHAOS28, his PS3 Blu Ray laser might've just burnt out, my 160gb did that not too long ago, and I only had it for 9 months when it happened. I'm sure that's just a coincidence.

My console seems to be locking up more than ever since installing this update heck after I installed all the content to BF3 Premium and its patch I went to start the game and it crashed at the main menu with the word SAVING on it. I thought it was my 250GB HDD on its way out and I bought a new one and after reading this it seems useless now oh well I get some extra space and I can sell my 250 for half of my new one

It sounds like a lot of the problems are with the slims. I had 2 of them, but got rid of them, because I had issues with the slims period. I don't like the slims, their junk! I replaced both with fattys. I have had no problems with the 4.25 update. My chrome fatty runs srong as ever. =)

Not problems whatsoever i think this people are just trying to get something out of this, i have never had any problems with updates period sense the PSN lunch.

Since the day of the update I have not been able to play a full match online in either BF3 or Black ops. My connection just seems to constantly fluctuate from great to nothing. I try to run in BF3 and I will just stand still then jump forward or I fire a shot and it still shows a full clip. My internet is fine issues are the same weather I'm wired in or running wireless, tried bypassing the router and just running from modem same problems. Like I said as soon as I installed the update the issues started.

This always happens, someone updates there PS3 and had no problems with it before and suddenly their PS3 freezes/crashes/doesn't read blu-ray discs or something but its not caused by the update its caused by the hardware. Sometimes it could be the update but in most cases its just peoples PS3's starting to pack in or they've just been extremely lucky to never had their consoles freeze up before when its a pretty common thing

I have the fat 60 gb and a fat 80 gb and neither will read ps3 games now that I've updated to 4.25. My 60 gb still plays ps2 games but neither will even show my ps3 games. Is there any way I can fix this?

I'm afraid to even update. People saying this is just some coincedent need to pull their head out of their bum. An update comes out and this many people just happened to have all sots of typical hardware/software failure, yeah right.... Even if that were the case this update is obviously a catalyst for such, they don't always tell use SPECIFICALLY what the update does.
This will permanently ban this user and delete all associated comments. This action is irreversible, are you SURE you want to do this?!
