PS3 sales up 138% thanks to Super Slim model

PlayStation 3 sales in the U.K. have rocketed by a whopping 138 per cent thanks to the launch of the recent Super Slim model.
According to MCV, 37 per cent of that figure can be attributed to sales of the 500GB version of the PS3 Super Slim.
The PS3 Super Slim launched last week and clocks in at 25 per cent smaller and 20 per cent lighter than its predecessor, the original PS3 slim. In addition, it also boasts a sliding disc cover as opposed to the loading drive present in earlier models.
Aside from the 500GB edition, U.K. gamers will also be able to pick up a 12GB flash memory version of the super slim model, replacing the 250GB SKU available in North America.

@DigitalBeast - "Per cent" is also acceptable, although I personally don't get why they didn't just use the percentage symbol. Also, although I understand your complaining about this site's Xbox coverage, I have to disagree with you. PSU only puts up details about competitors for comparison, it's not like they cover Xbox news or exclusives, they merely state when a game is also coming out on a platform other than PS3, and their respective release date which, of course, is only for reference/comparisons. Clearly no-one else has the same problem with including details on the competition that you do, but you are entitled to your opinion, and by no means am I saying your points are wrong. But I for one am glad that they include this information, as I'm sure many others are.
