Last week, the PlayStation Nation was excited to learn that, five years after its debut, the original Mass Effect is coming to PlayStation 3 with the Mass Effect Trilogy. Many PS3 owners have already played Mass Effect 2 and the trilogy's controversial conclusion, so it's good to know that the first game will also be made available as a standalone digital download. Thanks to an official BioWare posting, we can confirm the game will tout a reasonable price alongside pitch-perfect narrative direction and rock-solid RPG gameplay.
In the official Mass Effect Trilogy FAQ, one question posed is, "Will the original Mass Effect be available as a standalone game on PlayStation 3?" The response is heartening, and reveals the game's price: "Yes, the original Mass Effect will be available as a standalone digital title through the PlayStation Network for $14.99. It will release the same day as the Mass Effect Trilogy on PlayStation 3."
Unfortunately, we don't yet know what that day is, and our only indication is that the Mass Effect Trilogy "releases on November 6th, 2012 for Xbox 360 and PC, and later for PlayStation 3." That said, keep it glued to PSU.com for more on this unexpected release, including when you can get your hands on it.

Wow, think I might actually get it even though I didn't really like it last time I played it.

lookks I might play mass effect in the end, the only reason why I didn't bother with mass effect was the fact that I wanted to play the first one first. So I might pick up the triology!

I may end up buying this again on PS3 if it's a good port and I can transfer my save to Mass Effect 2 and so on. Also I wish they would spruce up the gameplay some. I bought ME1 and 2 last year during a steam sale and ME1's gameplay is rather horrible compared to 2 and 3. I'm mostly playing for the story, characters, and world anyways (although 2 and 3 were actually fun to play).
