The inSANE Trilogy may yet see the light of day despite being dumped by publisher THQ.
Creator Guillermo del Toro has said that he is still hoping to get the three-game project off the ground and labelled Valve Corporation as his dream partner for the series.
“I’m not giving up on Insane. It’s truly beautiful,” del Toro told Kotaku, adding he was in the process of “talking to developers.”
The director added he’s a big Valve aficionado, and mentioned he’s even cast GLaDOS (from Portal) voice actor Ellen McLain in the forthcoming flick Pacific Rim.
inSANE was originally due to be developed by Volition of Saints Row fame, with publishing rights handled by THQ. However, the company announced during its Q1 financial call that the project had been shelved .
No one really knows all that much about inSANE – save for del Toro, naturally – though the creator has described the trilogy as ‘really, really nasty’ and was believed to be heavily involved in its development.
