Crysis 3 pushes PS3, 360 to the limit

Crysis 3’s technical prowess all but maxes out the current crop of home consoles, Crytek boss Cevat Yerli has revealed.

Chatting with VideoGamer, Yerli also boasted that the game’s predecessor stands head and shoulders above the majority of current-gen offerings.

"Crysis 3 is absolutely maxing out the consoles," said Yerli. "There is absolutely not even 1 percent left."

"No game will ever look technically better than Crysis 3 on these consoles, flat out. Most games are not even anywhere near Crysis 2 technically.”

"I'm not talking about art style - art is subjective - but the pure fact of what we have been cramming in with Crysis 2 on Xbox and PlayStation, I've yet to see a game do that still today."

We’re not intimately acquainted with the PS3’s innards, but just looking at Crysis 3 is enough to know that it’s easily one of the most visually-stunning games we’ve clapped eyes on in years.

Crysis 3 will be released for PS3, PC and 360 in North America on February 19, 2013 and hits Europe on February 22.

@Digilator You mad bro? What else would you have them write? Only writing ps3, and PC, hints that it is console exclusive (which it isn't), and not mentioning ANY platform is even worse form for a gaming article. PSU is one of the few remaining sites that still maintain their journalistic integrity. Stop dissing it for NO REASON whatsoever. On topic : He's just hyping it up like he did with Crysis 2, arrogance doesn't really suit a developer whose last two games bombed at retail. Uncharted 3 trumps it in ALL departments (maybe not lighting but Crysis 2 never held a constant framerate so that you could really appreciate it).

Push 360: yes. PS3? No. Will wait for God of War Ascension and The Last of Us to do that.

Push PS3 to its limit? I don't think so, I've heard this too many times now from other developers, but shown differently. (Take a look at PS3 exclusives.) I love it when they say this, but at the same time trying to make PS3/360 versions identical. Now the 360, was maxed out years ago, nothing new there lol.
