The next issue of Famitsu magazine contains ‘something surprising for Metal Gear Solid fans,’ according to website Gematsu.

Of course, this news just so happens to have arrived hot on the heels of The Phantom Pain trailer, which many people are speculating is actually a new Metal Gear Solid title, possibly the previously-announced Ground Zeroes.

As reported earlier this week, the trailer contains many hints that it is indeed Metal Gear, from the similarities between the main character to Big Boss and the fact the game is helmed by a chap named Joakim Mogren – an anagram of Kojima and a likely reference to Project OGRE, respectively.

Regardless, Famitsu’s new issue will be out next week, so we won’t have long to wait to find out just what Konami has in store for Metal Gear Solid fans.

We’ll keep you posted.
