Michael Lesslie joins Assassin's Creed film

The planned movie adaptation of Assassin’s Creed has taken another step towards becoming a reality, with British scribe Michael Lesslie joining to adapt the project.

Assassin’s Creed marks Lesslie’s first Hollywood production, having previously headed up various short films as well as penning Prince of Denmark, performed last year at the National Theatre.

Ubisoft’s big screen take on the historical action-adventure series will be produced by Michael Fassbender, who will also star in the flick.

As it stands, New Regency and Ubisoft are currently on the hunt for a director to front the movie.

Assassin’s Creed is one of the most successful franchises of the current-generation of consoles, having sold over 38 million units worldwide since its inception in 2007.
