With THQ on its way out, the future of one of gaming's major sports franchises, WWE, is in limbo. However, if rumors are true, Take-Two Interactive may be adding the wrestling series to its belt.
Sources have told IGN that Take-Two is set to acquire the rights to the WWE video games. Interestingly enough, Take-Two is not negotiating these rights through the formal auction process other THQ franchises and studios have undergone, but rather in private talks. The WWE Games Twitter account tweeted, "We don't have any details to share yet, but there WILL continue to be WWE Games. Stay tuned for more information and some exciting news!"
Take-Two Interactive is the parent company of 2K Sports who are responsible for the NBA 2K and MLB 2K games. With Electronic Arts' EA Sports reportedly not interested in WWE, 2K Sports appears to be the next logical possibility.
We'll keep you posted on any updates on the WWE franchise and other THQ news as it happens.

Good I want to see new inovation to upcoming WWE games. They have been feeling like the same game for a while and I have seen good stuff go to the way side. Like freely walking and wrestling around in back stage areas and this last game I can't play my own charater in a story mode; really, really. LOL. Anyways looking to see some positive improvements.
