Heavy Rain, BEYOND: Two Souls composer Normand Corbeil succumbs to pancreatic cancer, dies at 56

It is with heavy hearts that we inform you of the following: Normand Corbeil, composer of Heavy Rain and the upcoming Quantic Dream epic BEYOND: Two Souls, has passed away at the age of 56.

The Cancer Forums user Orly83, allegedly Corbeil’s son, made the announcement, stating, "My father, Normand Corbeil, 56, passed away today at 2:56 PM. He was a great composer and an amazing dad… I am in shock." Clarification appears in his son’s forum signature, which explains that Corbeil was diagnosed with Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer on August 15, 2012, before succumbing to the disease after a five-month battle. The time of death was 2:56 PM on January 25, 2013.

Corbeil’s composer credits include numerous feature films and the above-mentioned video games – Heavy Rain and the upcoming BEYOND: Two Souls. With Corbeil’s work on BEYOND presumably ongoing, we await news on the state of the game’s development.
