November’s London Games Conference is to focus on upcoming next-generation platforms, Intent Media has announced.

As reported by MCV, the event will be titled ‘Games: The Next Generation, London Games Conference 2013’ and will focus on the new hardware expected to shape the games industry over the next half-a-decade or so.

"There are no shortage of conferences around social and mobile... London Games Conference 2013 will add platform evolution from Sony, Xbox and Nintendo and the PC, along with emergent platforms,” commented conference director, James Binns.

The London Games Conference 2013 will kick off on Wednesday, November 13 at 4.00 p.m. GMT at One Wimpole Street, London.

Sony is hotly tipped to unveil its new home console at the PlayStation Meeting event on February 20. Rumors put PlayStation 4 out in the U.S. and Japan this November, with a PAL launch due in early 2014.

Likewise, Microsoft is also prepping a Holiday 2013 release for its successor to the Xbox 360, codenamed Durango.

If it's in November what's the point really? By then we should know almost everything about PS4. It might release right before then. I guess if they wan't to discuss where the next step should be but PS5 is years away. Wanna talk possible future graphics that's cool too.

I understand that it would cost too much for the tech to be put in the PS4 to play the PS3 games but it is still a bummer.

@4 What are you on about, no-one said anything about the PS4 not being backwards compatible, stop making stuff up; for all we know, it probably will be.
