Platinum Trophy hunters congratulated by Sony

If you ever need any more motivation and incentive to grab that elusive Platinum trophy then check this out. It looks like Sony is sending out emails to those people who have achieved some of the hardest Platinum’s out there.
A guy over at the PushSquare forums received this email, shown below, congratulating him for being part of just 0.01 percent of the gaming population for earning a Platinum Trophy in Killzone 3. Yeah, so it’s not cold hard cash or PSN vouchers, but sometimes it’s just nice to be recognised for working your butt off to do something that most other people couldn’t.

Killzone 3 was an easy platinum to get. That is really surprising to me that only 0.01% of all ps3s that have played the game have the platinum. But then again I'm a platinum hunter, 23 and counting.

Such a brilliant idea by Sony, I know it's not a fantastic reward, but it's still a lovely gesture to be recognised and applauded for our success.
I'm a Platinum Hunter myself with 33 Platinums, and personally, my hardest Platinum was probably Mirror's Edge.

yea im around either 17 or 18. I've platniumed every god of war game, every uncharted game, the ratchet and clank games, batman arkham city, both infamous games, and heavy rain. Im missing some more but i just cant remember them. I think thats a good idea for them to do. Even though i have a ps3 and 360 i just have more desire to get platnium than achivements.

@2 exactly, when i saw kz3 as the plat, i'm like wait wut? I got that on the 3 rd day after release, is was way too easy to get. If it was kz2 then that'll make more sense. I highly doubt this was from Sony. Then again 0.01% could be because no one liked the game lol jks.
Going for 30-something plat on FC3.....

I received this same email back in August I think.. I would know which month when I compare trophies with a friend because the email arrived around the time I was helping a friend with Dead Nation and I think after I platinumed Killzone 3 multiplayer download from the store. (same platinum trophy)

Well I have about 1400 trophies and none are platinum. I love to play the games and haven't had the time to get all the extras. Especially, since I am currently playing Skyrim over 400 hours of game play (wonder if its got a platinum). Anyways, cheers to anyone whos got a platinum on any game!!

I still havn't brought killzone 3 but know that I gave up on trying to get platinium for Killzone 2, I did get platiniun for GOW 1,2 & 3, uncharted 1,2 & abyss, dead space, tekken 6 (which I never thought I would get becaus I'm not that good at the game, lol) and other games. I got 14 platinium trophys, but I only do thid for game I like, I don't buy/play easy games just to get platinium.
