Australia’s new R18+ classification has facilitated the long-awaited release of Mortal Kombat in the region, Warner Bros has confirmed.
The bloody beat-‘em-up was released back in 2011 though Aussies gamers missed out as the country’s original ratings system denied the game a release.
However, since the introduction of a M18+ rating for videogames, Warner Bros submitted the Komplete Edition of the brawler earlier this year, leading to its successful classification in Australia.
Mortal Kombat has yet to attract a release date Down Under, though this is great news for the future of mature game releases in Australia. Stay tuned.
