Final Fantasy Brand Director Shinji Hashimoto confirmed moments ago that Square Enix is preparing a Final Fantasy game for demonstration at E3 2013.

Little other information was given (no images, release details, or title), but we'll bring you everything we hear about this mysterious title as soon as we hear it.

Is it Final Fantasy Versus XIII? Final Fantasy XV? Something else entirely? Time will tell, but give us your thoughts and hopes in the comments below.

The two that surprised me the most in this presentation were the next gen racing game that was not Gran Turismo 6, and then how awful Square's presentation was. The same old tech demo of some engine they claim is amazing, yet only have this one scene in it and then the announcement of a Final Fantasy to come. What happened to the square that made FF7? Their presentation was pointless and even more, it was frustrating. Not even a stupid tech demo of FF7 to keep the flame alive. Nothing. The worst of the night.

-First, they talked about how great the PS4 is and its potential (what everyone already said at the beginning of this event).
-Next, they showed us the EXACT same trailer we saw at last year's E3.
-Finally, the Brand Director came on stage to say that a Final Fantasy game was being developed for the PS4. Get excited for E3!

I know there's plenty of SE haters out there, but really? Really? There was NOTHING exciting about them. The only small shred of new info was confirmation that a FF game was in the works, which everyone would have guessed anyway. Such a disappointment Square, you actually made two guys fly from your HQ in Japan to New York, for something you could have done in a 2 minute video on Youtube...

Stop wishing for FF7 remake they're already said it's not happenign anytime soon if it even happens at all. If anything we'll get an announcement of Versus 13 or a brand new franchise. As for SE's presentation the only real intersting thing was confirmation that the Luminous engine was actually running on PS3 this time instead of an "equivolent hardware setup" It's actually a pretty important admission because it takes what was once a great big "with if" and makes it a solid "it is."

Still, ultimately they have to make a game with it people want to play, and in a timely fashion.

I think to make a new start, they should put away the numbers, just call it Final Fantasy : rise and fall or something
